Cobra la la la la la Dukes.

My friend Natalie thinks this is a good cross between the Talking Heads and Peter Gabriel. And I'd have to agree on that point. Just add some electro. Great band with a single coming out soon.

This track is a Fredo & Thang Remix and really like the spaces and production. It's a bit less frantic than the Knikelife remix.

Cobra Dukes have their own blog.

Leave the Light on (Fredo & Thang Remix)

Preset to wicked.

You might have heard of the Presets by now.
This track is probably my favorite song off their album the Beams.
Seems like they should have something new out by now doesn't it?

Bad up your betterness.

Strip for me.

I've been meaning to do a blog on strip steve all week... really! Then I saw him on another spot and thought to myself, "I better get to it!" He did a chromeo remix of the song 'fancy footwork' that I've been listening nonstop for the last two weeks. It's rather amazing.

Should have a release coming in the next few weeks.

Ready to Ignite.

Everybody should be rocking this song daily throughout the summer.
One great reason to love the french.

Better than the original?
Justice - D.A.N.C.E. (Mstrkrft Remix)

My heart shall burn below.

Black fucking metal. A bit insane and a bit strange though. Furze is a one man BM outfit that really stands out with his production and open sound. It's raw but not another darkthrone cultist. You can hear the bass and that's always a plus for me, plus the entire sound isn't swallowed by the distortion and chords, so you can actually...hear the song!

Not for everybody, but then again black metal never should be.

Furze - Beneath The Wings Of The Black Vomit Above

From the windy city and down to you.

The Jai-Alai Savants hail from Chicago and do a number on some indie rock conventions. I'm was a bit worried that this might be another indie band sticking their toe into dance waters they can't properly swim in and just coming off as mopey and boring. But no, it's solid and and well funky, with some dub sounds mixed in. Think MC5 beating up on the police?

I feel like the chorus on this song could take us to some higher places to be a truely great song, but it's on to something.

Also another great track:
the Jai-Alai Savant - Scarlett Johansson, why Don't You Love me.

Pop will eat itself.

The dykeenies will either be massively huge on these shores in a few month or never make a dent and bounce off the wall like a kamikaze fly. Who knows really. It's basically a british pop band with a very mtv "chemical romance" sound.

So why should you listen to it? Because it's a well done and a damn good tune regardless.

They also remind me a bit of The Stranglers in their unabashed clean pop sound, but I'm not sure why. One of their other songs maybe...

And yes, it looks like fight club without the bitch tits.

Flashy Skulls and such...

Great remix of a great song.

Boys Noise - My Moon My Man Remix.

The original: (it's a great video.)

disco Violante.

Fuck you is my name is a horrible name, but this german band is pretty great. If you're a fan of the Robocop Kraus you should grab this as soon as possible, as it's hugely influenced by them. A bit of post punk, a bit of rock garage rabble rousing. You might even dance to it here and there.

F.u.i.m.n. - Never change a winning horse.
They have a very well designed site.

Pulling strings.

The mary onettes are a swedish dark wave band who've been together since 2000, but didn't get a deal until late in 2006. This song LOST is a pretty amazing piece of new order love with a great chorus. Check them out.
